For me, I collect GBA, NDS and PSP games. The latter two are easier to collect because both companies pulled off something smart by including the games in a similar packaging that disc based games have. This makes collecting CIBed games much easier and more manageable. GBA and NDS games (for the most part when dealing with the latter) are more akin to older style of games in my opinion so people who are fans of 16-bit console RPGs can find a similar game on those two systems.
Ohh and as a side note, GBA Micro is the best failed product Nintendo has ever released. I wish it succeeded because it was and still is a great piece of electronic heaven.
Handhelds, are they fun or just paperweights now?

I disagree. They removed backward compatability...casterofdreams wrote: Ohh and as a side note, GBA Micro is the best failed product Nintendo has ever released.

Well, it depends, if you were a late boomer, then you would've like the sleekness of the Micro and its bright LCD screen (brighter than the SP brite!), but it is very small, and will cramp your hands in about a hour. Could've made it about 1/2~1"" wider, and still work out.noiseredux wrote:I disagree. There was an article on CNET.com, where an editor expressed his fondness for his Micro, and he argued that the Micro should've come around the DSi release rather than the DS release; he thought the Micro could've found a niche as a good o'skool game player instead of 'micro' pillar to DS' 3rd pillar.

Here's the article that I was talking about, and some good points were brought out as well. Though it will be interesting to see what 2010 E3 will bring us, just 3DS, or the possibility of PSP2/II?
A good thing to know is that Gameboy Micro isn't dropping down to floor-bottom prices, as good ones still cost around USD $40. What is the common price for the DS phat and Lite?

I wonder wich kind of hand you got. I played with my micro for hours (wich is not "normal" on a handheld) and never had any problem. The SP, on the other hand, just sucks for anything action related.skyknight wrote:Well, it depends, if you were a late boomer, then you would've like the sleekness of the Micro and its bright LCD screen (brighter than the SP brite!), but it is very small, and will cramp your hands in about a hour. Thanks for finding it. For some reason I couldn't find it. Its a very good read and a great idea if Nintendo when down this path from the beginning.skyknight wrote:http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-102 ... ol;relnews

i find it's easier to play handhelds now because they often have frequent save points. I travel a lot as well, so quick gaming is what i prefer. I also have a terrible attention span, so handhelds also win there.
