This is somewhat odd for me - I remember buying a Kingston 2GB micro SD from DX and it was a good price. I was looking for a 4GB now, and the OEM ones are like $10. That is about the same price that you can get locally. Similarly I went to check Memory sticks (the Sony proprietary format) and
Anyone knows of good (trustworthy) alternatives for Micro SD cards or Memory sticks (doesn't need to be "genuine" Sony / Sandisk)?

Personally, I would avoid DX and other Hong Kong sellers for memory sticks. Instead, buy them from a trusted seller like Amazon, NewEgg, etc.

That is a fair warning, although I can confidently say the Kingston I got from them (2 GB at the time) was genuine as it checked up on Kingston's website verification.gtmtnbiker wrote:Personally, I would avoid DX and other Hong Kong sellers for memory sticks. They had cheaper knockoffs under other SKUs, and they had ones advertised as genuine Kingstons "Made in Japan" that were a bit more, but at the time quite a bit less than you got elsewhere IIRC.
Although right now Amazon (actually an affiliate I think) has them for same price of the DX ones (shipped):

Maybe stick with a reputable name brand you trust. You don't need to buy one specifically stating made for the portable or home video game console. Analogy of more expensive Music CDR vs cheaper Data CDR. Marketing, still the same stuff.
