Then that's good enough, now it comes down to gameplay and its re-playability.

bought the special edition at gamestop. I don't think I'm going to open it though, I know I'll never get around to actually playing it, so I might as well keep the plastic wrap on.

It's sitting on a shelf still sealed at the moment. I have a number of PS2 games ahead of it. By the time I get around to playing it, it may be worth more to sell it and buy a used copy to actually play. It's right next to my PE Lunar

I bought it yesterday with some birthday money. I think I'll keep the ps2 version sealed and get the Wii version used when I get a chance to play it! The reviews were good. Ign gave it a 9.

Wait... so all you guys bought this game but none of you have played it?

Well I have in fact played it, and I would say it is alright. As most of you know, it is an adventure/rpg hybrid. It is just that the adventure portions make up about 80% of the game. So if this appeals to you, then I suppose it will be a hit with you.

I beat it about a month ago, and found I got addicted to the main theme song. Whenever I booted the game I had to let it play through once before I could start. Overall it wasn't bad. As mentioned the visual novel parts make up most of the gameplay, with the strategic battles being the rest. About half of the battles involve some kind of gimmick aside from just "kill them all", which helps keep it fresh. The final boss was more annoying than hard, though, which was a bit of a disappointment.

I was surprised at how much I loved this game given how many minor annoyances and plot holes there are in it. The characters are actually really endearing and the battle engine is insanely fun. There's also quite a bit of strategy in the battles, which oddly most strategy-RPGs don't have. I do wish they'd chosen the PS2 remake of the first game, and I still have my fingers crossed they'll decide to localize that one at some point but at this late a date I doubt it.

The other night I finally played through the first 90 minutes of the game... still no battles yet. Wow there is a lot of story in this thing.
