Ditto, I picked up two gamebridges on Woot.com for $5 + 5 shipping, and I've only used them for a little bit. Mine are the composite models (no s-video) and I used them for playing console games on my laptop.

At one point, I took my laptop with the gamebridge to Lab and hosted a mini Brawl tourney for people that were gettign stressed with finals.

I would say it worked for me as a usb VGA box if anything

so how would you say it looks? And did you notice any lag?

Okay new question: if I got the Gamecube S-Video cables, is there some sort of Radioshack converter so that I could just plug the S-Video Cables straight into the DVI port on my monitor??

Yes. Did you read my CRT vs LCD link? Samples there. Same scenario though, an expensive option. Really think you should just get the Component 480p cables and get the most thru your HDTV.

yeah there is one in the living room, but I don't use it for gaming. Usually if I'm gaming, my wife is watching TV... she doesn't really play games, so I don't hog it.

there seem to be a ton of TV Tuner cards you can buy for under $50 that feature S-Video input. Would that work?

I forgot about those, great idea! Not a direct signal to the monitor though, unsure of lag, all capture cards go thru the computer. Could be an issue whenever the hard drive "burps" as it allocates to ram memory.

I mentioned this on another thread, but the idea seemed to get dismissed very quickly: ever consider a VGA box?

The VGA box is standalone, meaning you don't have to install it in your computer, AND there is not issues regarding your PC being over/under specs for timing. I' have something similar to this (a more expensive model that handles component and 1080p resolutions), and it works great if you monitor has a VGA port to spare.

I bought one of these for college back in the day, as I had no space in my dorm for a TV and a comp monitor:
