I have my Cube hooked up to my monitor via the Innovations VGA Box. It works just fine, but there are some vertical lines in the picture, I guess due to stratching the image.
I'm curious if anyone's used the GameBridge USB capture device? It sounds pretty good, and goes for about $50. How would the Cube look with S-Video going into that thing? And is there any lag? That's my biggest concern. I put up with the hit to picture clarity now since there is no software involved, so no lag at all as a result.

Re: Has anyone used the GameBridge ?
Video outs shouldn't have any lag. Not sure of delay going thru a capture device though. S-Video would be better then composite. Why not go crazy on that Gamecube and invest in component to get true 480p output to an HD setup?

Re: Has anyone used the GameBridge ?
I'm not trying to hook it up to an HD (TV). I play on a VGA monitor (flatscreen LCD). I don't think the GC Component Cables can be hooked up to VGA (or DVI). Am I wrong?CRTGAMER wrote:Video outs shouldn't have any lag. S-Video would be better then composite. Why not go crazy and invest in component to get true 480p output to an HD setup?
*I don't shit about this shit.
Re: Has anyone used the GameBridge ?
It could through an expensive Component to VGA adaptor. For your USB capture device S-Video is cheap investment, might prove good enough results. If you are willing to spend the bucks Component will give you that 480p. I have links at my LCD vs CRT signature link for various video options.noiseredux wrote:I'm not trying to hook it up to an HD (TV). I play on a VGA monitor (flatscreen LCD). Here's a comparison of Zelda with Component on the left, Composite on the right.

Re: Has anyone used the GameBridge ?
I'm not sure I'd want to spend the money for both Ninty Component Cables and an expensvie adapter...
I'm really not an AV Snob or anything. Just looking to see if there's an affordable way to make my setup look at least a bit better.

Re: Has anyone used the GameBridge ?
Yeah expensive with component plus transcoder. Maybe give S-Video a try.
This one says component fo $4.99. Usually S-Video cable in the bag.

This one lists S-Video, pic is a RF box, shows how skus get mixed up.

Best to call ahead, Gamestop is bound to have a dedicated not multi system octopus S-Video for your Cube.

I have a GameBridge, but I've never used it like you are asking... There IS lag however when going through the Capture Device software. Unplayable lag.

Re: Has anyone used the GameBridge ?
hmm. Okay, I'll have to check when I get home, BUT I think my current VGA box only has composite-in. Not S-Video-In.
So what's my best route to get S-Video onto my VGA?

Re: Has anyone used the GameBridge ?
Ditto, I picked up two gamebridges on Woot.com for $5 + 5 shipping, and I've only used them for a little bit. Mine are the composite models (no s-video) and I used them for playing console games on my laptop.
At one point, I took my laptop with the gamebridge to Lab and hosted a mini Brawl tourney for people that were gettign stressed with finals.
I would say it worked for me as a usb VGA box if anything

If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?
