Goozex has added "Retro Game Trading"

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I signed up and said you refered me enderfall.

I have a quick question or issue I guess. I want to trade my copy of Shinning Force which is worth around 15 bucks I'd say($17 on VGPC), but according to Goozex is only worth 200(or 10 bucks) while Ristar which worth about same(less according to VGPC) and is 250 points or Gunstar Hero's is 300 points. I guess I'm wondering where they get the point values.

1st, thanks for the reference.

As for the point value, I think that in the early stages of adding retro games, the point values we fluctuate until a more accurate market price is established. Although Goozex does not explain how their "algorithm" decides a price, it is generally understood that if demand outweighs supply, the price will go up (or at least remain the same), and of course the opposite for games in abundant supply. What their happy medium is, no one really knows.

In general, use the point values to your advantage b trying to trade high and buy low. It's easier said than done, but with some practice you'll figure it out. Just remember to put any games you think you might trade on hold until you decide to activate it, this way you keep your (earlier) spot in line and maximize the likelihood that it trades out quickly.

as you might know from my sig, I'm a big supporter/user of Goozex. I've been very active on there for at least the last year. The addition of Retro is really fantastic news for me. And in fact, since the inclusion I've already gotten a couple of rather rare and awesome Game Boy games: Ghostbustrers II (with pristine manual!) and Ninja Gaiden Shadow!!

I just used it for the first time and got rid of a few games I couldn't get rid of elsewhere and didn't want anymore. In return I was able to get a copy of Mario Tennis for the N64. Win/win for me.

I have three games I sent out on Monday and am excited to get my points and get some games! I have three people waiting for three more games once I get confirmations/feedback for the three I sent.
I just don't like buying trade tokens... but if that is the only annoyance I'm good.

Also, Enderfall I PMed about the condition of every game except the perfect looking "disc only" ones. Thanks for the advise.

Another quick question:
I have two games that I want and the 26 hour clock is about to run out and neiter trader has agreed to ship them.
What happens next (since they are both the only ones offering those specific games)?
and
Has this happened often to you or anyone else on the forums?

it happens all the time. It just means that the sender most likely didn't check their email that day. What happens next is the system will try to find you another match (meaning the game you requested will show up under REQUESTED NOW). The copy that timed out will go ON HOLD and the sender will get a message saying it timed out. What usually happens is the sender will see that message in a day or two, re-offer the game and it will instantly be offered to you.
