Ho ho, an actual story mode. And they brought King back.
Alright, looks like KOFXIII's heading in the right direction.

Anyone think the game looked more scaled back? From that preview video, the sprites looked smaller and the environments looked bigger.

Yeah, they zoomed the camera out quite a bit.

I do hope the camera zooms in at least for certain attacks or something. I know everyone complained that it was zoomed in so far you could see the pixels, but I liked the "Ouch Factor" of it all.

Apparently, this is debug info for KOFXIII or something. Who knows really. This is what all the Japanese says, apparently:

PLAYER:
1 - Kula
2 - Iori '98
3 - Yuri

CPU
1 - King
2 - Mai
3 - Dark Ash

Could be a hoax - who knows. But I do know that both Iori '98 and Dark Ash were on KOFXII as lines of code, meaning they were meant to be in that game to begin with.

If Iori '98 and Kula are in this game... holy crap.

It's assumed that at the end of this story, Ash will steal Kyo's power as well, and become Dark Ash - probably the final boss, or maybe the sub-boss. The logo for KOFXIII even hints at Dark Ash, with the black and green flames.
