Video games and beer: My only two vices.
When I've got a decent income, I definitely prefer the Japanese rice beers like Kirin or Sapporo. When I'm poor...well let's just say PBR or High Life happens sometimes.
You guys? And if beer isn't your thing, substitute.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Favorite Booze - Rich and Poor?
Great beers: I like Hefes, my favorite probably being Franziskaner and Hoegaarden.
Good beers: Still like the Hefes, Blue Moon is always good as is UFO. Shock Top is a recent discovery I am quite pleased with.
Okay beers: The beer I am usually stuck with do to lack of funds. Lionshead makes a great beer. Kind has the same taste as Yuengling and it is only $15 (or less in some places) for a case of bottles. They have puzzles underneath the caps that are usually quite a hit at parties.
Every now and then I like to drink Corona, not sure why as I know it is the Bud of Mexican beers, but I find it refreshing with lemon or lime. I do like Kirin and Sapporo as well. Chimay is great if you have some money to spend, same with Delirium and Skullsplitter. There is a place called the Boathouse by me (I believe it is a chain) that sells a lot of different types of beers. There are a ton I have tried that I wish I could remember the names of. A favorite combo is to mix a Framboise with a Chocolate Stout. You end up with a strawberry milkshakey tasting combination that even my non-beer drinking friends love.

Poor - I absolutely love the taste of Olde English in a 40 oz. I buy one of these every now and then and love every minute of it. For more than a 40 oz. night I go for Lionshead or Yuengling, like PBR as well though.
Rich - I think any microbrewery does a good job, but I would say Red Hook porter is one of my faves. Any dark beer that's made micro I find delicious.
There is a big push now for bottom shelf liquors since the recession hit. Kind of funny to think about those other than college kids buying that stuff. As far as that goes I love cheap whiskey - like Old Crow.

Poor - 2 for $4 Yuenglings at happy hour. I'd even drink turpentine.
Rich - Sambuca. That's not only one of my favorite liquors to drink, it's also one of my favorite liquors to say.

If we're talking Liquor, Tequila is my favorite. It does not have any negative impact on me like I hear it does on other. I will even drink a well made margarita and not feel any less manly. Vodka is okay for shots although even the top shelf stuff burns my throat on the way down. I love gin and tonics also, but gin tends to make me very emotional. After a few, I will be hugging everyone and telling them how much I love them and how special they are. After a lot I will be doing the same on the verge of tears. Not sure why. This is a drink best enjoyed in the privacy of my own home with my wife.

Boddingtons pub ale is one of my favorite. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boddingtons.
And anything from Samuel Smith. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Smith_Brewery.
Woodchuck, and Strongbow's apple cider are good as well. Tommy Knocker maple syrup flavored beer is freakin' awesome.
Those are rich. Poor would be Corona, Budweiser, or Heineken.

Re: Favorite Booze - Rich and Poor?
On hand-pull: probably Saltaire's Hazelnut Coffee Porter. Could drink that all day every day, stuff is awesome.
In bottles: Belgian - Rochefort 10, American - Flying Dog Road Dog Porter, English - Brakspear Triple
Rich: A bottle of Lagavulin 16 year old Islay Single Malt. Best single malt whiskey ever. I could quite happily just smell it for hours on end. The taste is just as good as the smell.
Oh yeah, and if it's fizzy and cold IT'S NOT CIDER and It is definitely NOT served over ice. It sickens me what is considered as 'cider' these days...

Rice does not belong in beer.
Anyway, it's hard to pick a favorite. Sierra Nevada, Moose Drool, Hacker Pschorr, Stella Artios, Hopluia, etc., etc. all get consumed regularly around here.

Please never mention Sierra Nevada and Stella Artois in the same sentence. One is a decent microbrewery that has a few nice tipples like their Torpedo IPA and one is mass marketed, mass produced sugary piss water. Yeurgh. I wouldn't clean my drains out with stella...
No offence.

Re: Favorite Booze - Rich and Poor?
I don't have a taste for expensive beers, never have. Back when I had a lot of disposable income, I would go out on the weekends with friends or my Wife and try a bunch of microbrews and buy expensive six packs of beer, always trying new things. It seemed that the more the beer cost, the more I didn't like it.
I always fell back to Bud light and Natty light. I always have a case of one or the other on hand and love it ice cold. I'm also not a big fan of hard liquors. I have a bottle of Patron and Crown in the pantry for when the mood strikes.
Crown and Coke over ice and Patron and Sprite or OJ over ice with a splash of grenadine.
I guess I'm a cheap date.
