A Question About Wii Firmware
OK. I remember my Firmware being at 4.0 when I first played Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga. When I first started it up, it asked me to update, so I did. However, when I checked the Firmware later, it was still at 4.0. Does this mean I can play newer games without having to update the Firmware on it? You know, so I can still use the Homebrew Channel?

Re: A Question About Wii Firmware
Certain games just update certain IOS in the Wii and not update the firmware completely. I had to do it to get certain old games to work on my softmodded 4.1 Wii, games like Mario Kart and Mario Galaxy would not work from the disc channel without an update. I updated and it didn't actually do anything (nothing important, the softmod still functions 100%) and the game started. Mario Kart certainly doesn't need anything higher than 3.4 I think but it still wanted to update on my 4.1 wii. Don't worry about it.

Ah. I see. Thank you Niode. Now I just have to wait for Monster Hunter Tri to be released state-side.Niode wrote:Certain games just update certain IOS in the Wii and not update the firmware completely.
