What card are you using? That really doesn't sound good. Have you tried using your GPU Utility to set the fan speed back down?

I have a nvidia geforce GTS 240. This is the only game that has given me a problem so far. To be honest I have never messed with GPU utilities before and do not really know shit about GPUs.

Yeah it's a noisy card, just like all nVidia cards. STALKER isn't very well optimised for nVidia cards, it favours ATi cards so that could be why you haven't noticed it until this game.

Have you updated your Nvidia drivers recently Octo? There were some issues with several drivers there for a while.

You know what's really great? Call of Pripyat keeps up the tradition of having an NPC who keeps saying a really annoying phrase. In this case, it's one of the traders.

Yeah, Clear Sky had the Freedom Trader that constantly annoyed me. While the sayings were pretty bad, his voice hurt.
