Being a Retro Gamer... Month 1.0

Post by shwisha »

So it's been about a month since I've decided retro gaming would be my new hobby. Here's my damage so far;

-Dingoo Digital - started the idea for this new venture.
-Retro Duo - low cost way to get me started on an nes/snes collection.
-About 20 nes games including; donkey kong classics, mario bros 1-3, punch out, dodge ball, dig dug 2, rampage, excitebike, metal gear, castlevania 1-3
-About 10 SNES games including; doom, f-zero, nba jam te, bomberman 2
-Atari Flashback 2
-PS1 games; metal gear solid, twisted metal 2, bushido blade, intelligent qube
-PS2... already had a lot of these
-Have a Sega Genesis 1 on the way with 10 games...

w00t... good start so far I think.

I've never heard of the Dingoo Digital thing. I checked out their website and it looks pretty nifty. How is it? Do the games run at full speed? Any real problems?

Agreed, more info please. It took me a second to even figure out where to go to buy one. How'd you come across this little guy? How's the performance?

There's a few posts about the Dingoo on here (not saying it to be a d-bag, but because you should all really check them out). I have a Dingoo and it is fantastic. You will find a lot more info on those posts. The main thing to check out is Dingux as it adds tons of emulators to what comes stock. There are a few complaints you will hear throughout the internet, and it seems the PSP is the most favored device. For someone who has no experience modding and doesn't need much more than the popular consoles emulated, the Dingoo has left me with no complaints. My only issue is my wife dropped it and now the screen is a bit blurry. Doesn't stop me though.

EDIT: Here are the links where the Dingoo was discussed. I have relied on these links for a lot of information, especially for finding sites to dl roms. Hope these help!
