CRT monitor/tv required for games room

I need a new monitor for my retro games room - I was originally using an LCD TV and HDMI upscaler for all of my connected systems (everything is RGB SCART without exception)... but there's too many issues; wrong aspect ratio, bad colours, my Saturn looks like crap and neither my SNES or Amiga will work at all.

I tried an old JVC portable TV I had, but it looks like it doesn't work on 60Hz at all (rolling display from my PC-Engine) - which is an issue as I have both 50Hz and 60Hz RGB signals to cope with.

Any suggestions? I don't really want anything bigger than about 17".

The old Amiga monitors would be a good choice as they do 15KHz RGB at 50-60Hz, but they're ancient these days.

Oh, cheap and available in the UK would be good! :)

Starting from top down: extensions/cables, region converters & flash/backup devices, Playstation 2 games, XBox 1 games, PAL Dreamcast, NTSC Dreamcast & Saturn, stategy guides & various programming references. Plus a few spare disk drives. Narrow shelving to the right contains a mostly complete PAL NeoGeo Pocket collection and PC-Engine titles further down. The next shelving to the right has Vectrex (original and homebrew), SNES, Gamegear, Master System, Nintendo DS and at the very bottom a shelf a various power adapters.

Love the shelves! Great way for accessing the various consoles.

Not any CRT in particular but definitely get one that has RGB SCART, S-Video and Composite. If you ever plan on using a Lighgun stick with non-HD CRT. CRT TVs are very cheap to find, because of consumers wanting to switch to LCDs. I see a CRT monitor or TV at least once every few weeks put out by garbage with free sign in my area.

Yeah, it's just finding one, I guess. There's a couple of Philips / Commodore RGB monitors on Ebay right now. I'll keep an eye on them and see how they go.

I do have an old Mitsubishi 20" TV that worked with everything I've thrown at it... I just wonder if it would take up too much space.

Be surprised what you find at local thrift stopres and swap meets. I think any CRT is gonna use up the top where you have the LCD now. You could make an extension or get a slide out keyboard drawer for the keyboard.

I recommend to check out Ikea as those shelf are from there. Hell, the small shelf he got there I also have it :lol: .

As for the table, they isn't a design I can find in Ikea that look like that on the picture but I have a feeling it can be modify from one of the Ikea product with additional add on as I can see few stuff on the table that Ikea have to make it.

The table/drawers is from an educational supplier, not Ikea - it's actually a paper storage drawer.

The rest of the stuff is various configurations of the Ikea Billy range - the office desk is from the Galant range.
