What was the last movie you've seen?

Dillon was Tommy Haranahan's (Chris Murney) wife in the movie.

Newman's fictional wife in Slap Shot was, Jennifer Warren

Realized that when I was on imdb. Either way, it was odd to see her naked and connect the dots.

"connect the dots," eh? Is that what the kids are calling it these days?

Easy there, I watched it with family.

Just got done watching TEEN WOLF. Movies don't get that much better.

Hunger

Steve McQueen (no, not Bullitt Steve Mcqueen) film about the 1981 Irish hunger strikes led by Bobby Sands. Very moving performances from the entire cast.

Watched Starship Troopers today on TBS. Still holds up, even on cable. :)

Did you "get" it though? Most people simply don't.

Oh yes pretty good stuff.

F/X which I discovered was on DVD. Brian Dennehy, Bryan Brown and the late legendary Jerry Orbach turned in exceptional performances for a low-budget 80s action movie. Jossie DeGuzman on the other hand almost ruined it all, but thankfully she didn't mouth off too often. The end sequence includes outtakes which weren't in the original cut afaik, and the special rendition of Imagination's hit "Just An Illusion" just screams 80s nostalgia. Anyone else seen it? Your thoughts?

I know it doesn't hold true to the book (I haven't read the book), but this is still one of my favorite movies. I hear so much bitching about this film, but it's great action and gore. For all book fans, I am sure this movie inspired many to read the book so be happy - I will read it... eventually.

Oh, yeah, the movie is not true to the book in any sense of the word. Well, I mean I guess most of the characters' names are similar, and some of their genders are the same, but that's about it. The messages and attitudes of the movie are lightyears away from the novel.

However, both are pretty awesome in very different ways. The film did generate two straight-to-video sequels, which I hear are remarkably awful. I can understand fans of the book disliking the movie, though. The book is pretty serious, and is more political than anything, while the movie is, well, Starship Troopers.

Vash23n -- stop wasting your time. Read the book.

Last movies I saw:

Sherlock Holmes-- Some purists complained, but I think this was true to the spirit of Sherlock Holmes. I thought it was a little slow during the first half, and my friends who used to live in London tell me that the geography is a little screwed up, but I really enjoyed it.

Eragon-- This came on SyFy. It had a lot of problems. I would not recommend it to anyone over about twelve.

How to Lose Friends and Alienate People-- I laughed quite a bit. I'm pretty easy to please, but I'd give it a solid four out of five. Like Starship Troopers, purists of the book might not like it (I haven't read the book, nor do I plan to), but I thought it was a lot of fun. I'm surprised to find myself in agreement in Roger Ebert.
