A Glimpse Into Japan's Retro Mega Stores (56K DEATH!)

Here's a glimpse of some of the shops I go to. Not all of them, but a small bite.
Most of these shops are open 24 hours just in case you need a Famicom copy of Super Mario Brothers at 3AM on a Tuesday.

For obvious reasons, including my ebay auctions, I had to censor some of the prices.

Wow.....just wow. I wonder how much money those people who own the shop made each month. Man, wish we have something like that here in Canada.

Just got back from one of these stores. There are five on my island according to this page: http://mandaisoukokanteidan.seesaa.net/ ... 384-1.html I went to the fourth one listed.

It was a little disappointing. Though I did end up buying a few things that you can see in the "Finds of the Day" thread. Probably the most enticing thing there was the Saturn Dual Stick CIB for $20. But I was a little hesitant to buy it due to the sheer size of it. It was more of just a general recycle shop with a slightly more nerdy flair to it. I wasn't able to find anything too amazing but here are some pics if you're interested.

you said you were blacking out some prices for your ebay account. What is your handle on there? I just want to browse what you're selling.

It's because he doesn't want to let people know how much he's jacking up the prices.

Those black dots are there for a reason!

Yeah, you probably bought it for $60, and are reselling it for $200...

More power to you if you're able to snag cheap deals and resell them on Ebay for a handsome profit.

Maybe if the person in question here was man enough to actually show how much he's ripping you off. It's not like anyone's going to Japan anyways and people will end up buying his stuff on eBay regardless of whether he shows it or not. And if someone is going to Japan, I doubt they'd buy stuff from him either way.
