Stranglehold video looks fun
I'm ashamed to admit I haven't seen any John Woo movies, but I appreciate his influence and I dig fun gunslinging movies like Rodriguez's Desperado
Sure it's probably a typical third person shooter, but I love the stylistic touches in this video. This is really what I always wanted from the Max Payne games, but they couldn't deliver this much style. Wish I didn't have to listen to the narration though. Gameplay videos speak for themselves.

Ive played the demo and if you guys remember Max Payne it has all the elments of it and some new ones. Theres one move that I find really good its when your sorounded by 5 or 4 guys and the camera changes to over the shoulder and you can dodge the bullet and shoot the guy and he does all that like dancing moves. But hehe thats just my opinion.

Now if only I could get a femme fatale sidekick. One of the things I loved about Max Payne 2 was running into a room full of enemies, and seeing(or just hearing) Mona bust in from another door and start cleaning house.
I'm definitly going to rent this one, it actually has more of my interest than Halo 3. Though this may be because I can't find a single decent campaign mode video for Halo 3. Every video is for multi-player, which doesn't interest me that much.
Now we really need to get a Max Payne 3 at some point.

Oh Mona my life is so full of shit since you died and I didn't even knew what was happening when it happened. My life hasn't been the same since you died. I haven't found another made up character to fill the gap that you left.Gamerforlife wrote:Now if only I could get a femme fatale sidekick. Dramatic ain't it.

She was a great character. She really gave the game a nice emotional core that the first game didn't have. Two messed up, tragic souls who found each other. Thank god for the second, "good" ending that you could get by playing the game on a higher difficulty. I just couldn't except the original ending.nightwalker wrote:Oh Mona my life is so full of shit since you died and I didn't even knew what was happening when it happened. We need more film noir games out there. I love dark stories with messed up characters.

Finally got around to playing this(and Bioshock)
It's pretty cool, definitely plays a lot like the Max Payne games and it captures the feel of being in some epic, John Woo action movie perfectly(the soundtrack is a big part of that). I love the rather large amount of "traps" in the early stages of the game that you can use against your enemies and blasting enemies while going down a zip line just kicks ass
On the negative side, the style system itself is a bit unreliable. There are times when Tequila simply will not interact with the environment the way he should for some reason. This usually happens when trying to slide over an object or when trying to jump off a wall. There's always some weird, buggy thing in every 360 game I play it seems(Viva Pinata would crash whenever I entered a certain menu option, Bioshock periodically freezing while I way playing, etc). The standoffs, which seemed initially cool, or now starting to annoy me as the game barely gives you any time to kill each enemy it seems, especially when you're forced to pay attention to incoming fire you have to dodge while somehow having the focus to simultaneously aim at your enemy in the like 2 seconds you have to kill him
Pretty minor gripes though I guess. The game IS fun. One boss I just fought was absolutely awesome, there's a cool mini-game type stage early in the game, and I love the precision shot Tequila bomb power. There's TONS of enemies in some stages so the game, for better or for worse really turns into a frantic all out frenzy of bullets quite frequently. I paused the game once and couldn't believe how many bullets I saw coming towards me.
