Damn I miss the days when all you had to do to set up your console was plug two cords into the device, plus said cords into the wall and tv, and then turn the damn thing on. Actually, that was just "last" gen. Took damn forever to get everything set up and get onto Live. At least I only have to do that once.
I got BioShock, along with Pac-Man CE and Space Giraffe on XBLA. I will profess my love for PMCE on a separate thread. I haven't delved too deep into SG quite yet.
If any of the fine folks on this forum would like to me to your list, my gamertag is RadarScope1.
I have 400 points just hanging out. I want to buy an old-school brawler or some other multi game to play with someone online. If anyone is up for that lemme know ....
So I got a 360

Mozgus - I hear you on the 360 being PC-like. It kind of is, as you'd expect from a MS product. But I have to say that the interface and the way it all feels/works is very console-like. The menus are simple and everything is really intuitive. It's definitely a gaming device. I really like being able to download demos of practically every game out - retail and XBLA.
As far as reliability, well, we all know the problems there. Like most of the people on this fourm, I keep my gaming hardware for years, and expect it to last. Hopefully it will, but all I can do right now is enjoy it - and I am!

Well regarding the online access, Xbox Live is nice and all, but it's not free like Steam. Within another year, Steam will probably actually surpass Live in terms of functionality, while remaining free, and its still very easy to use. I feel like a PC with Steam and an Xbox with Live are two extremely similar things.RadarScope1 wrote:Mozgus - I hear you on the 360 being PC-like. It kind of is, as you'd expect from a MS product. I'll add you guys when I get my Elite back from MS.
The 360 is awesome. It's quickly becoming my favorite console. If only they could get the hardware straightened out. I had just downloaded the TMNT arcade game and Fatal Fury to play with some friends while they were in town. Then the disc drive started going nuts and now it won't read anything. So I just sent it in to Texas to get repaired.

I thought for a long time that they would make Live free. With the PSN being free, I thought it would put pressure on them. But now the PS3 is limping along in general and Home is delayed into 2008. AND Halo is coming out, so they're free to squeeze a lot of money out of people.
I'm actually considering just sicking with Silver (which is free) after my month of free Gold runs out ... But somehow I just dont think that would be as much fun.

Hey does Silver allow you to play games online still? I got a friend who pre-ordered Halo 3 and doesnt even have a clue.RadarScope1 wrote:I thought for a long time that they would make Live free.
