I want to completely disable the analog stick on my PSP. It's a piece of crap, I'm aware of joysens and stuff but I don't have access to that nor am I interested.
If it is possible, could someone explain to me what to do? I'm not even sure how to get the LCD off.

You won't have to remove the LCD the analogue sits next to it, it's screwed down making contact with 2 pins it's easy to remove
Why would you want to remove it completely? You'll have an unsightly hole where it used to be.

Don't know why the removal, stick is almost flush. Not to mention damage risk.
You might be able to just remove the stick, cover the hole and leave the electronics intact. Might effect direction calibration of some games if the potentiometer is removed.

I've removed the stick itself but in-game it constantly drags down. I just want to completely disable this thing.

So many games require the analog stick though. It makes no sense to remove it.

Seems like the calibration is already off.Merz wrote:I've removed the stick itself but in-game it constantly drags down. I just want to completely disable this thing.

I've tried replacing it and recalibration. I'm pretty sure it was seriously damaged while shipping overseas. If you know how to disable it let me know though.

You replaced the entire potentiometer not just the stick? Maybe you bought a bad one.
Or the connections to potentiometer may not be seated right.
Some games require stick to be centered while booting.
The complete replacement on Amazon listing is just over 5 bucks including shipping.

Check the connections between potentiometer and base.
