Windows 7 USB driver for GP2X?

Post by josekortez »

This isn't an emulation question per se, but I recently got my hands on a GP2X system but my Windows 7 netbook won't recognize it as a USB device. Can anybody link me to a driver that will allow my netbook to recognize my GP2X as a drive via USB connection? I've Googled, but I haven't had any luck! Thanks.

Just a quick question: did it work in Vista? It should work if it did, because the two have VERY similar architecture (7 is Vista+).

To be honest, I don't know. I got it from someone who I believe left the original Windows XP firmware on it. It came with a lot of "good stuff" on it so I would prefer not to reformat the system if I don't have to. I just need my netbook to recognize it. Would a Vista driver work?

What are you trying to do exactly? Can a GP2x ever be recognized as a USB device? I've had mine for ages but I never had the need to do anything like that. I just stick an SD card in a reader and install everything from there.
Mostly harmless

Thanks, Hateshinai. I wasn't aware that it couldn't be used as a USB device. The guy I got mine from didn't give me a GP2X user's guide. I was able to find one online and it doesn't mention that it can be used as a USB device either. He included 2 SD cards so I think I'll just buy an SD card reader and go on from there. I appreciate your reply. I probably would have been going in circles for ages!
