Have you ever walked out of the theatre because of a movie?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Bah! All of these films seem like gold in comparison to "Meet the Spartans", the worst 30 minutes of Cinema in my life. I saw it with some co-workers on a Saturday night and I was the only one who walked out. I spent the rest of the night at the Galaga machine. The consensus was that it was rubbish, but one of my younger co-workers actually enjoyed it. Does anybody share my hatred for this film and its two directors?

I haven't seen Meet the Spartans, but I've seen parts of Scary Movies 1-3. I despise Scary Movie and all of it's bastard children.

I watched Disater Movie for the sole purpose of seeing the Miley Cyrus look-a-like being crushed by a meteor. Needless to say, the things I had to force my way through (and I cannot emphasize that enough) from the poop jokes, to the "Sweet 16" party, to the butchering of Superbad all culminating with a obvious rendition of High School Musical (a thing that should just die with whatever amount of dignity its got left). When I finally got to the scene where "Hannah Montana" died, Seltzer and Friedburg ruined even that by making her advertise her albums  (not really, but still)...

What was I thinking?!

Damn, that's about on par with someone watching all of Wanted just to see Angelina Jolie kill herself. It wasn't worth it.

Star Wars

yes
it was the prequels

*shudders*

I've yet to see nr. 3 (I keep turning it off after 10 minutes of horrendous CGI graphics)
I have no clue how Anakin became Darth Vader
and I am a happy man

albeit I'll admit I did not completely enjoy the remakes of 4-6 either
sure they added a couple of more background-flashie-thingies; but other than that... nothing special

keep in mind; I do not like CGI in Real-Action films

I like stop-animation.

All this hate for Saw movies. I enjoy them I guess because I know what I'm going to see it for: ridiculous and absurd ways to kill people. At least the last one realized it was going no where and decided to put in its own thinly-veiled allegory for the healthcare crisis. I find it amazing people shun Saw, but a lot of these same people will flock to anything George Romero will put out, most of which, outside of Night and Dawn of the Dead, weren't that amazing. Same with Japanophiles that eat up anything Takashi Miike. (Django: Sukiyaki Western and Izo made me do an about face from him.) I'm not saying Saw is up there with Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Halloween. But, then again, this is all coming from a guy that owns nearly every Godzilla movie on VHS. :P

All it was was an attempt to make the original trilogy seem less dated I suppose.

Honestly it doesn't work too well. It still has a huge late 70s/80s vibe even with the new flashy crap. I don't really like the new effects either, they manage to somehow look MORE fake than all of the so-called "outdated" methods. Puppet Jabba > CG Jabba.

Oh and the new singing sequence in Jabba's palace in Return of the Jedi was fucking terrible. I hated that so much, I loved the original scene and they replaced it with crap CG sequence and a new terrible song.

Oh and there's rumors that he's going to retool all of the films AGAIN once they come out on blu-ray. Oh boy
