Goozex has added "Retro Game Trading"

Post by enderfall »

Some of you might be familiar with Goozex, but up until now, you were only able to trade PS1/Dreamcast and newer games (no Saturn games it seems, ATM). Today they announced that you will soon be able to trade retro games. This might be a good opportunity for Racketboy members to swap some of your unwanted cartridge based games for new ones... or for more modern games, if you so choose.

For those unfamiliar with how Goozex works, please visit their FAQ: http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/about_faq.asp

If you wish to join Goozex, you can get a free trade token if you refer a current member. If you wish, you can use my name, although I don't want anyone to feel obliged. But if you are interested, please use this link: http://www.goozex.com/referral.asp?idr=6186585560772

I only ever used goozex to get free games. The system usually works out to costing the same if I just went out and bought the game at a used game store but if they add older games I think I'll take a look again.

No problem.

And just for clarification, it launched this morning, so you can head over there now to start trading your retro games!

I still had my free 100 points for signing up and picked up a copy of Comix Zone... I think I'll have to start trading some of my stuff there now.
Thanks for the update on the retro game trading.

Anybody have any success? I'm matched up to receive Starcraft 64 and Wing Commander on Sega CD. I also traded out my extra copy of Super Mario World.

I have a quick question about Goozex for those who have used it.
I used my free point to get Comix Zone and the label was damaged... I don't care about that, but I was wondering if you need to specify stuff like that. I have some games I want to trade that has rental stickers, writing, etc on the carts but don't know how to properly document that.

Also, does full package mean ads too, cause I have a couple games that are cartridge, box, and manual and not sure how to list them.

Thanks

If you go through the forums, it's understood that all that is needed in a disc (or in this case, cartridge) only trade is that the game works. You have the option of leaving a +5 positive feedback as opposed to a +10 if you feel the "quality" was not as you expected.
I have some games I want to trade that has rental stickers, writing, etc on the carts but don't know how to properly document that.
It is considerate to PM the buyer before you accept the trade to ask if they are OK with receiving a game with rental stickers, etc. on it. Some people won't care, others will complain. If they don't want the game, just let the trade run it's 26 hour window and wait for the next person to trade it out.
Also, does full package mean ads too, cause I have a couple games that are cartridge, box, and manual and not sure how to list them.

Thanks
The advertiesments generally are not considered "full package", but again, some people are anal, though far fewer than those about stickers.

Hope that helps.
