Anyone know where to find the Saturn USB pads?

I've been looking around, and the only ones I could find were the Retrolink ones that people were saying broke really easily. I checked Rackets articles, and all of his links didn't work. Does anyone have a link to wherever I can buy the good ones?

I just bought one off of eBay, as the PlaySega pads I bought were cheap shit. (Thanks SEGA!). This is the auction. I'm hoping it's real, as they show the inside and the SLS sticker on the back. I can let you know when I receive it whether it's the real deal.

FWIW, the PCB inside the clone pads fits inside a real Saturn controller shell. So if you have a Saturn controller you want to sacrifice you could do that. You just have to use the shoulder buttons from the clone, as there's a little shim on them that's necessary to reach the smaller switches on the PCB.

I couldn't figure out how to separate the d-pad from the housing. The housing seems to be sandwiched between the dpad and the lever on the inside that presses the contacts. My plan originally was to remove the d-pad from the saturn and move it to the playsega controller, but no luck there.

The parts are definitely made from the same mold. Whoever made the clones just used shitty plastic.

Actually, just now I took my broken playsega controller, put a butter knife under the d-pad and pried it off. It pops on and off. I'm a little hesitant to try it on a saturn controller, since I just bought a USB one that will suit my needs but I suspect that will work with the original since all the other parts are identical.

Yeah, the old Saturn pads pop off like that too. I've taken mine completely apart for cleaning before. Don't pry on just one side as that's more likely to break something. If you carefully pry from both sides to pull evenly its safer.

I got one a while back at $15 BIN from HK. It's an official pad and i love it. Glad i looked around and didn't get one of those cheap fake ones.

That's the PlaySega pad. Same as all those ones on ebay but with a different color scheme.

There are seriously like 100+ of the GOOD Sega Saturn pads for USB on eBay RIGHT NOW. I searched "Saturn PS3" (the "good" pads support play on the PS3). Many of the auctions that say "original" or "genuine" are the ones to go for. About $20, shipped. Not bad. And make absolute sure to ENABLE OTHER COUNTRIES in the search. Most are from Hong Kong. Only searching US will bring back retrolink POS pads. They come in black, white (J style), and the gray/blue V style. Heard reviews and they sound kick ass. I'm gonna pick up one here in the next week or so (to tide me over until I can get a good PS2 Saturn Pad).
