Idea for a new 2D fighting game to use digitized graphics

Post by REPO Man »

The idea is to use both celebrities and rotoscoping (like what Ralph Bakshi did with such films as Lord of the Rings and Fire & Ice), along with a slasher film aesthetic.

Basically, all of the fighters would be played by celebrities. Not like Red-Carpet-A-lister-Hollywood-royalty celebrity, mind you. And that would be in both the digitized sprites (a la Mortal Kombat, albeit in high-def) and the cutscenes. And the sprites would be rotoscoped, meaning that they'd be painted over to give it a more surreal look.

The plot is very simple: A group of the most vicious serial killers, each with a style akin to '80s slashers, are brought to a special part of Hell devoted to psychotics. The Devil (who is also a final boss and unlockable character) tells them that the winner shall return to Earth with the powers they have in Hell.

THE CHARACTERS

++TILLY CORMAN, AKA "THE MANTIS QUEEN"
A vicious serial killer who uses twin blades to eviscerate her male victims and eat their brains. Due to this, they called her "The Mantis Queen" since her MO is based on the mantis mating ritual. In Hell she is given special blades that are attached to her hands to make her more like her namesake.
POSSIBLE CHOICES: KALEY CUOCO, KRISTEN CHENOWETH (basically a pretty blond with a voice that would only belong to a psychopath ironically)

THAT'S ALL FOR NOW.

And FYI... The Devil would be a woman.

Sign me up. Would this be a full retail release or a download like XBLA? It has a very "Twisted Metal" sound to it that I wish more games could recapture.

* Retail

* I was thinking "Mortal Kombat" of the '10s laced with what I predict will be a resurgence of '80s-style horror, akin to the '70s-style horror revival of the '00s.

And some other ideas for characters (not developed enough yet), such as a psychotic rock goddess (imagine "Trick or Treat"'s Sammy Curr with tits by way of Joan Jett) and a cannibal with a homemade bear-trap-ish jaw (like a manmade version of Baraka's teeth from MK).

Well,
both let you stick things in them for amusement...
both usually end up costing you a fortune over time...
and both whine incessantly...
