Longtime lurker, first time posting. I went through the archives, but I couldn't really find a problem like mine.
So, about a year ago, I bought a 32-pin model 2 Saturn and installed a non-Racket modchip. Initially, everything was fine, but after a few months, it started acting strangely. Basically, it would play a game, either legitimate game or a burned game, for about 20 minutes. Then, the game stops running and goes back to the main menu, claiming "this disk is unsuitable for the system". Then, if I restart, the system claims that there is no disk inserted and does so for a few days. Then, it will start the game, but quit again after 20 minutes.
I've watched the disk as the system starts up, but it seems as if the disk is not spinning very fast. Fearing that it may be a modchip issue, I removed the modchip, but the issue remains. Now, the last time I started the system, the disk didn't spin at all, leading me to believe that this is an issue with the motor. Is there hope for my Saturn, or should I get a new one? Even if it is the motor, and I can replace it, I really don't have the expertise technically to do so. Thank you for your help.

Re: Saturn won't read disk
No ideas? At this point I'm considering just buying another Saturn.
