looking for an old (possibly) NES ninja game

hello everyone.

when i was young i played a game with my friend, on his console (i dont really recall what system it was) and recently i tried to find it but i had no luck.

basically it was a ninja type game, it started with a princess wandering in the forest, then a ninja flew in and stole the princess.
gameplay was very unique, you could fly all over the trees (on the first level) like in those old chinese movies, i think you started out as a blue ninja and you could get upgrades then you could throw shurikens.

i would really appreciate any help.

I believe that would be Legend of Kage, an arcade port by Taito.



A sequel was released on the DS in the last year or two, btw.

There's a sequel called Demon Sword as well. Fun games. I loved the ridiculous jumping. I heard that was some talk about doing Legend of Kage a remake? Can anyone confirm?
