Oh joy, eco packs are here!

You know who's fault this is right?

Stupid people who throw DVD cases away.

First time I saw Eco Case was on a DVD Sci-Fi rental. Reminded be of a Bio Hazard symbol, thought it was a limited release case.

Wait a minute, a Recycle Symbol,
ya gottta be kidding.

That is, until I removed the DVD to watch the movie. Eco Loco, how cheap can a company get. :? :x

First video game I noticed with one was Demigod, which I picked up last August. It weirded me out at the time, and it weirds me out now. They just feel so flimsy...

Hmm. The waste of plastic in DVD cases being thrown away is a big problem, but just removing a vital and actually kinda small area of the case is dumb. They could have used card cases (something like Unlimited SaGa maybe?), CD Jewel cases, bioplastic cases, slim DVD cases... there are far better choices out there.

Then again, maybe the companies don't want your game to stay safe.

So know cases break more often so you need to replace them and waste more plastic! Yay!

A couple Blu-Ray movies I own use this; I can't say I care for it. It feels cheap and fragile. It feels like it's made out of thin rubber.

I am being eco friendly by reviving this thread

It looks like DS boxes have them now too.

I just bought Aliens: Infestation and when I opened it up, it was missing the GBA slot on the case. It wasn't untill I removed the manuals that I found that ever so loved recycle symbol.

It also doesn't help that SEGA made one of those "download the full manual off our website" pitch. I only got a weak 12 page booklet, and half of it is in french.

dammit! :(

heres a pic for you to compare.

I don't think these are eco-friendly because I just throw them out and find a real DVD case. It's a good thing I use digital distribution so much to make up for that.

Yeah these cases have been around for awhile... I have Wii, Xbox 360, and PC games that came with eco pack cases. There's even a Nintendo DS version, my copy of Dragon Quest V came in one!
