The Secret Life of Machines.

Awesome old series about how stuff works. Entertaining even if you are familiar with the workings of the particular device due to the bits of trivia and the wacky stuff they build to explain things. I was just pointing this out to a friend, and figured I'd do so here as well for anyone not familiar with it.

If you don't already have a copy, you need to pick up the book The Way Things Work by David Macaulay.

I probably should, yes. I have what appears to be a first printing of the 1979 Motel of Mysteries that my mother picked up from a library sale. Granted it has 'withdrawn' stamped in it and a tear from them pulling the card pocked out of it, but hey, I bet she paid 50 cents for it and it is otherwise in pretty good shape and perfectly readable.
