I recently ordered Zaku for the Atari Lynx from Super Fighter Team, and played through two levels today. Here a few thoughts on what I have played so far.
This game has been compared to the Zonk games on the Turbografx-16, but I haven't played any of those games so I can't really comment on the similarities. Any way you look at it, the game is just plain fun. The graphics have an old school Nickelodeon-style charm that I haven't seen since the SNES days, which really helped to draw me in.
Not only is Zaku aesthetically pleasing, but the gameplay is downright addicting. It's a horizontal shmup that can be pretty challenging at times. The challenge actually makes you want to play "just one more time" when you die, and isn't to the point of being frustrating. I've actually had the most fun playing against the very creative bosses and mini-bosses in the game. Some of the enemy designs actually had me laughing out loud.
I'm having a blast with this game, and would totally recommend it to anyone looking for a fun addition to their Lynx library.
Some quick thoughts on Zaku for the Atari Lynx

Sounds awesome. I love how those guys are making "new" games for retro systems... especially the production values they put into it. It's cool to hear the gameplay is as good as the visuals.
