How do I find out if my TV is compatible with Guncon 2?

I want to buy a Guncon 2 for my PS2, but I don't want to get it unless I know my TV can play it. I'm pretty sure its a CRT, but do certain CRT's not work with light guns?

Is your CRT TV Standard Definition? Then yes, it will work perfectly regardless of if it is flat screen, curved screen or any other type.


Is your CRT an HDTV? If so you will need to see if it displays in 100hz after performing the switch to 100hz mode outlined in the thread CRTGAMER linked you to. If your HD CRT runs at any higher of a refresh rate/frequency the Guncon 2 will not register, period.

Sure no problem. Its a Non-HD CRT. You can hook up S-Video for the best quality into this set.

It is saying the Guncon 2 will work with TV's displaying at 480P, Which is known as EDTV, it is not saying it is required.

Here is the clarified statement.

The Guncon 2 supports regular Non-HD CRT TVs.
It also has a 480p mode which requires a CRT Enhanced (EDTV) Definition TV.
At this time have not confirmed Lightgun working on a HD CRT.
