Just a thought.

When watching the Arcade Laser Disc on my player, this restart scene pops up a lot.
Gives idea how often exact sequence is a missed moment of hitting sword or direction.

Dragons Lair inspired reaction game, Dungeon Escape.
Flash game, Game play, sounds and music is there.

I wrote all kinds of Trivia on Laser Discs here. Might be surprised what Lasers can do.

I dropped 50 cents a pop into Dragon's Lair way back when at ShowBiz Pizza. The only thing that kept me from thinking it to be a total ripoff (I could have spent that on TWO games of Donkey Kong or Robotron!) was that the game looked so far ahead of everything else... my first flirtation with being a graphics whore.

What I remember most about this game was thinking that I was going to be controlling a cartoon and ended up feeling like I was playing Whack-A-Mole.

Interesting info there. I had someone with a Laserdisc player do a rip of BR since the theatrical cut was never released on DVD (until the Final Cut came out). Pretty disappointing that such an old format has a few handy features that have not been implemented in the overrated Bluray format.

I had the DVD version of Space Ace (another Don Bluth cartoon game) and it was horrible. There was a little glitchy pause every time you were supposed to make a move. This would throw off your game and it made the sound stop during that pause, so it ruined the whole flow of the game. I imagine you could have similar problems with the Dragon's Lair DVD if it was released by the same company.

I have the CD-Rom version of Dragon's Lair and it runs pretty much how I remember it from the old days in the arcade, so I would recommend that.
