Anyone Remember Dragon's Lair?

Post by ReddMcKnight »

Dragon's Lair was an FMV Game released in Arcades back in the day. Everybody loved it from what I heard. Well, I wanna try this game. It's been released on several different consoles over the years. Problem is, some ports sucked, other ports rocked. So...does anyone know what the best platform is for playing it on in this day and age?

I have that original Laser Disc. Watch all the levels non-interactive mode on Laser Disc home unit.

As far as the best version, not sure. Here is the Original Producer.

I played it for the first time this year on the 3DO. It was really good. I dont know how the other ports are, but I didnt notice any issues with the 3DO one.

In all honesty, the original Arcade has great animation, but a quick momentary reaction only game play. No full control of action in the game. So you can look for original authentically style or a full control of the Game character like a 3rd person adventure. Depends what style game play you are looking for.

Lot of the later releases opted for full control. Crabmaster2000, how does the 3DO play like?

Here's my advice.. Either:
a) Get Daphne and play the game in its original Laserdisc glory or
b) Watch the entire play-through on Youtube >

If you're not aware, there's not much playing to it. You basically push a direction at the right time to advance the story...or die.

Cobra Command is the best Laserdisc game IMO, you can get a great port of it on your iPhone if you have one.

A way around used with Digital Leisure DVD version. For full Authenticity still need the Interactive Laser Machine, and Disc itself.

The original Disc is also hard to find, here are a couple good sites though.

Since you already have a 3DO, maybe pursue that version?
Check my previous reply link for other versions.
