What games have you bought at launch recently?

I want to play just cause 2 but can't bring myself to buy it, since games like that are always half the price after 6 months. I feel safer buying nintendo games at launch, since they rarely go down in price. A year after the wii was out Super Smash Bros Melee was still 29.99.

Most the time I just ask for new games for my birthday or xmas, and buy everything else after the price drops.

The last game I bought at launch was Resident Evil 5. The game is still expensive today so I don't regret paying full price at launch, it's a great game.

I preordered Endless Ocean: Blue World so I could get a free WiiSpeak. Now I just need friends with Endless Ocean: Blue World and a WiiSpeak.

I bought Final Fantasy 13 and Mass Effect 2 at launch, just because Mass Effect 1 blew me away and FF is just a series I am loyal and committed to.

I also bought Batman Arkham Asylum and Brutal Legend at launch, just because I am a huge Batman fan and and I like Metal, so both were must buys.

When a game looks like it's gonna be really special, sometimes I can't wait. I can't let the rest of the world get in on this awesome thing while I sit on the sidelines and play it later when everyone else is already done with it and not talking about it anymore. I felt like that after I played the Batman Arkham Asylum demo and had to buy the full version

The newest game I have bought on day one would be Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time

I buy games when they hit the clearance section. I got myself Final Fantasy 4 (for 14 bucks) and Grand theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (for 20 bucks) for DS that way.

Pokemon Heart Gold is in the mail as I'm typing this (I hope). Couldn't get the pre-order bonus via Play-Asia so I'll be going the eBay route for those.

I pre-ordered Sakura Wars for the PS2 since I'm a sucker for Atlus games released late on systems. I wasn't in time unfortunately to buy the "Unforgettable Memories" edition of the RosenQueen website though... just getting the limited release from Amazon.

Other than that, I rarely buy anything at release unless it's a gift for my birthday or the holidays. Heck I play probably only 1/10th of the games I buy so it serves me well to not buy them at full price (Atlus games not included).
