Personally, my buddy and I went with the Duo X2 chip for $15. It works great. No flashing the BIOS needed since the oXbox has been dead for awhile. You can get it here:

It has the BIOS support for larger drives.
Well here it is on the site I usually buy from...

http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php ... 264&page=1

Although, that site is usually more expensive then any other site. Hmm, now I'm wondering if the I should get the Duo X2 chip since it's a hell of a lot cheaper. I wonder what the differences are between them.

I think the Executer has some extra features including:

1. Built in http/ftp server
2. Larger flash eeprom (2M versus 512KB).

#2 was important in the early/middle days of the xbox scene when the BIOS was still under development.

#1 is a nice to have feature. the DuoX2 chip doesn't have a built-in ftp server. So I would install the chip and then boot with a dashboard burned on a DVD. Then I proceed with the rest of the installation/configuration. If your DVD drive is dead, well, you're out of luck if you don't know anyone with an xbox who could help you.

I think those are the main extra features. If you got money to spare, sure, go for the more expensive chip. Otherwise, save your cash for something else.
