I'll try to keep it brief but need to tell the story. I was watching Teletubbies with my 2 year old daughter and the 60 gig shut off (right before they got to eat their Teletubby toast). Wouldn't power up. Flipped the back and waited 2 minutes. Flipped it on and the red light came on for 1 full second then shut off. I knew my PS3 had died. So I went to work.
Now that I've researched this I've figured it has to be the power supply. This guy http://forums.llamma.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=25118 (Cyber Akuma) has the same problems and I've read countless threads like this. Time to buy a new power supply.
I really don't want to send to Sony.
Can anyone recommend a replacement power supply for the PS3? A reliable 3rd party brand?
And bring on the, "I can't believe you put that Teletubby S*** in your PS3."

With the history of overheating YLOD, best to restrict PS3 to gaming, use another player for movies.
Careful, Once you take that PS3 apart Sony will not touch it warranty or not.
From everything I read unlikely its the power supply, but you never know. Heat is usually the culprit, "Niode" has some good information here concerning airflow and placing PS3 flat instead up on end.

Put that Teletubby on dvd and not PS3 bluray player. How many times do you have to watch Teletubby video, over, and over? Teletubby video killed the PS3 star
You took too long, now your candy's gone. That's What happens. Bkowwwww. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)
Re: Recommend me a PS3 PSU brand for my dead 60 gig
Its comeplety retarded that something sold as a 'Entertainment System' cant be used to entertain via DVD, what a heap of shit, I am not a fan boy by any accounts but it is some funny shit how hard all the 360 purist's must be laughing thinking 'pay backs a bitch'
No idea on your problem, but it kind of annoys me people saying you shouldn't play dvd's on it, its marketed for its capabilities, it should live up to.

I have an enduring suspicion that Teletubbies are secretely Evil. But if your kids like the show I guess it can't do much harm. Right? Right??
