Some real older great ones. Star Trek inspired games.

Arcade, Atari 5200, C64 and Apple II - Star Trek (The old Vector Arcade)
Atari 2600 - Stellar Track (Plays like Main Frame Super Star Trek)
Atari 5200 and Atari 400/800 - Star Raiders (same as above with Arcade sequence)
Arcade and Vectrex - Space Wars (Patron programmable game in beautiful Hi-Res Vector)

Not as ancient
PC and PS2 - Elite Force (FPS)

Be warned, the FMV games I mentioned are extremely cheesy and linear. They're not good games by any means, but more like an interactive episode of TNG. Good for a fan, not good for a gamer. I liked them despite all that.

Starfleet Academy has FMV cut scenes, but real space ship combat. I thought it was really good, haven't gotten around to Klingon Academy yet.

If you look on UG or BG you can find a torrent with just about every Star Trek PC game ever released. I have had a lot of fun with that. I can get you an invite if you need one.

I thought that Star Trek: The Next Generation - Echoes from the Past for the Genesis was pretty enjoyable (and I had never seen an episode of Star Trek before playing it).

Star Trek: Bridge Commander = 82 metascore
Star Trek Elite Force II = 78 metascore
Star Trek: Klingon Academy = 74 metascore
Star Trek: Starfleet Command III = 78 metascore
Star Trek: Invasion = 76 metascore
Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force = 86 metascore
Star Trek Deep Space Nine: The Fallen = 81 metascore
Star Trek: Starfleet Command Volume II--Empires at War = 77 metascore
Star Trek: The Next Generation--A Final Unity = 80 gamerank

I'd hardly call the Star Trek franchise devoid of any halfway decent games

Yeah. I do not always like what critics like but those are all pretty damn good scores.

I was just being a smart ass. I've never played any of those, so I really have little room to speak.

I really love the Starfleet Command games. I played the Elite Force demo when it first came out, it was really good, but I never got the full game...

I'm a big Trek fan as well, but have yet to find a Trek game I enjoy.

That being said, I have a copy of Star Trek: Invasion for sale. If you enjoy the Colony Wars games, you might like it.
My games for sale: Racketboy, Amazon, eBay
My systems: NES, Nintendo 64, GameCube (Game Boy Player), Wii / Game & Watch: Ball, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP (x2), Nintendo DSi / Genesis (Sega CD, 32X), Saturn / Game Gear / PlayStation, PlayStation 2 / Xbox / Mac (Windows PC) / iPhone, iPad
