Notice the zip100 symbol in the top left of the real thing has a dark blue tab to the left and is directly on the corner of the disk, while the ebay item has it slightly offset without the blue tab. Additionally, the drive in the ebay auction is a slightly different color than the Dreamcast while the real thing is flawless. This could be a result of aging, but then why doesn't the dreamcast fade just like it?

Lastly, why does the auction drive have the expansion clip slots on the bottem like the Dreamcast when it is obviously shaped different? It's fake. That's why.
Not necessarily. If you're at the prototype stage and Bob has to make two prototypes there's no reason he would make them exactly the same. That's the definition of prototype.

To quote the auction: "This was the only prototype in the world." According to the man who claims to have been on the dev team for the thing.

If I really had something worth $10,000, I would hire somebody with a established and stellar eBay ID/feedback to sell it for me. It would definitely help a lot.

Indeed. My bad, sorry. :) Really, though, without a single game in existence this thing is junk. One of a kind junk. I've bought some pretty silly video game gizmos in my day and paid some pretty silly prices but this is just dumb. I mean, if you bought it you wouldn't even have a way to know if it was fake or not once you got it. Shouldn't that say something?
