Struggling to find enjoyment from gaming

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

That is what always helps keeps games fresh for me, taking them on one at a time. Pick a game you enjoy, stick to it until you beat it (if it's a beatable game, if not go for a high score). You might find that you like some games more than you think. I thought COD MW2 was just an alright game until I finally won the campaign. The game is pretty awesome, although I still think the fact you can't personalize the controls is garbage.

And, I'll take whatever you have left after 707 and Noise grab what they want.

I think if games are a struggle to enjoy, then they probably have stopped serving their purpose for you. It's either time for a break, or time for a different hobby.

Unless of course you're depressed and nothing that you once enjoyed is much fun anymore, then you have a different problem and should definitely hold onto your games, work through the rough patch by forcing yourself to do a lot of active things, then your games will still be there when you are well enough to enjoy them again.

This happens to me once and a while but I always end up getting back into gaming. What you need is a break. Just do something else with your spare time, gaming will be waiting for you when you get back.

I find that I don't want to play RPG's anymore unless it is one I am fimilar with it already. I tried Dragon Age Origins and I put it on ebay 4-1/2 hours later. I have to darn many already.

That is another part of the problem. I plan on revisiting some of the games, I have but then I end up buying new ones! So I dont get a chance to revisit those games like I planned. I am myself contemplating just going through my collection and keeping a small core of the titles and ebaying the rest. Panzer Dragoon Saga not for sale though.. Ive beaten that twice and am thinking of going a 3rd round.

I downloaded punchout on the wii (nes 8bit version) OMG that game is still fun! haha

I haven't really had the problem finding enjoyment from gaming, its just finishing the damn suckers.

Currently trying to finish up the story on GTA4, but its hard for me to keep my attention to it as the city is so damn huge and can be a pain to get around, and the fact that I don't want to mess around with playing pool and bowling with everyone that calls me.

And after that, I'm going to try finishing up Oblivion and its expansions.

To try and help though, Maybe you should take your mind off of more serious matters so you can enjoy the game, I mean hell I just bought the first rouge squadron on N64 the other day, and you GET TO FLY EVERY SHIP IN THE STARWARS UNIVERSE (up to RoTJ at least), so where is there to not find entertainment from that?

I still really like gaming, but i'm a lot more picky now. I'll go through several games (playing about an hour a piece) before finding one i thoroughly enjoy. When i was a kid i would have loved eternal sonata, but now, just because i didn't like the voice acting, i quickly put the game away.

i appreciate everyone's feedback. I'm just in a slump right now. between family, work, and our house, i have little time left for anything, let alone gaming. Maybe, i'll just put them away for a good while and come back to them in the future, or just go on a mad ebay video game buying spree/rampage like i always do to help me feel better........
