It has been 15 years but I own a Genesis again!

Post by wip3outguy7 »

I originally picked up a High Definition Graphics model when I was a kid. My brother and I held onto it until I was 16 when it became a victim of "trade-in", where it was handed over to Software Etc to go toward the price of a Playstation (oh, be quiet, boo hiss you).

So today I picked one up from Game Over Videogames here in town. I had been watching Craig's and checking pawn shops and Goodwill for months with no luck. So I finally had some spare cash on me and went to Game Over. The price wasn't bad considering the guy pulled out all of their Genesis so I could get exactly which model I wanted. They also threw in the A/V cable for no extra charge, even gave me a choice between it and the RF adapter. I picked up the non-High Definition Graphics model with the A6 - A6.8 board. So I have the great sound and video and a slightly newer system.

Picked up Ranger X, as well. It's the first time I've played the game. I was having difficulty with it and then got serious. I beat it on my 3rd play: normal, of course.

So now I'll need to track down some of my old favorites I should have never sold like Streets of Rage 2 and Gunstar Heroes.

I'm a bit drunk right now so pardon the lack of coherency in this post if there is any.

You know, trade-in affected me and my N64, and when I realized it, I was f'ing pissed. I'm still saving money to get back the Mario Parties. But congrats good sir!

This game found me sometime in childhood and I didn't remember it until a few weeks ago. Once I saw an image of the title screen it all came back. What a weird and fun game! Hunting for a good priced cart soon. :)

If you like games like those you really should look for TMNT: Hyperstone Heist and Golden Axe. With a partner by your side they're too much fun to miss out on. Congrats on picking up that Genesis!

Nice! The genesis is in my top 3 favorite game systems; you should pick up Rocket Knight Adventures and Dynamite Headdy as a suggestion :)

Congratulations! I too know what it's like to be reunited with a Genesis (see my signature). Since everyone else is recommending games, I want to recommend Comix Zone.
