What are some good JPN only N64 games to get?

Post by Marktheshark »

I've been wondering about this for a while now. I've been thinking about getting some JPN only N64 games later on. However, I don't know too much Japanese so I can only get the ones that have a low language barrier for now. I know there's Sin & Punishment as well as Bangai-Oh & the Bomberman 64 JPN only version. Anything else worth getting that doesn't have a large language barrier?

The only ones you missed that are pretty good are Dezaemon 3D and Rakuga Kids. I made a list of all the Japanese exclusive N64 games most are sports, parlor, and RPG. I will list some from the list that seem playable if no knowledge on Japanese. They aren't all good but at least okay.

Bass Rush: ECOGEAR PowerWorm Championship - the menus will take some getting use to but if you like fishing games its not bad

Choro Q 64 2:Hachamecha Grand Prix Race - Racing RPG might not understand everything but quite playable. If you liked penny racers its the sequel.

Chōkūkan Night: Pro Yakyū King 1 & 2 - Baseball with cute little characters

Custom Robo and Custom Robo V2 - kinda a fighting rpg hybrid, you could play the game but will miss the story which isn't much anyways.

Densha de Go! 64 - Train sim. I don't know how english friendly these game are but I want one just because the controller looks cool, which you have to have, I think.

Dance Dance Revolution Disney's World Dancing Museum - Not my cup of tea but maybe yours.

Doraemon 1,2 and 3 - I really want these they are action platformers.

Eikō no Saint Andrews - I don't like this golf game.

Famista 64 - another baseball game

Itoi Shigesato no Bass Tsuri No. 1 - I like this fishing game better then the first one I mentioned, I have the Super Famicom version which its better then.

J-league - there are a bunch of these soccer games but I don't know much about them.

Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū - There are 5 or six of these baseball games on the system.

Last Legion UX - Now this game seems really cool. I am trying to find a copy.

Masters '98: Haruka Naru Augusta - another golf game

Neon Genesis Evangelion - another game that seems cool but I don't know how playable it is. I will pick it up if I see it.

New Japan Pro Wrestling 1 and 2 - Wrestling

Nintama Rantaro 64 Game Gallery - Here's another I don't know a lot about but I am interested. It a puzzle game.

Power League 64 - Baseball again.

Puyo Puyo SUN and Puyo Puyo N - I love these puzzle games so I will pick them up when I get a chance. I want sun more though.

SD Hiryū no Ken Densetsu - I would consider this game good. Its a more indepth SD only version of Flying Dragon.

Super B-Daman: Battle Phoenix 64 - Some people don't like B-Damen games but I like them, ever since I played Bomberman B-Daman on the SFC.

Super Robot Spirits- Robot fighting game. I heard its not that good though.

Tetris 64 - I want this game so I can try the Bio-sensor.

Ucchan Nanchan no Honō no Challenge: Denryū Ira Ira - These type of games are fun, basicly you move a ball thropugh a maze as fast as you can without thouching the walls. I use to play this type of games in arcades, but you scroll your finger on the board instead there.

Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 and 64 - wrestling but pretty indepth.

I will give a special mention to Wonder Project J2. This game looks great I wish I understood it. I think I missed some more sports titles and a sumo game.

I hope that helps you out. I am going to try to post my entire list of jp only N64 releases when I get a chance I.

Dezaemon 3D any good?

The saturn one fascinates me, because of the intense amount of well made user made content avaible, and the plenty of ways getting them on your memory card.

Does any of that apply to Deza 3D as well, or is it just good for literally, your own content?

Thanks for providing this list. I'm trying to collect some import games and this list of yours will greatly help whenever I'm on eBay. :D

F1 Racing Championship Racing
Michael Owen's WLS 2000 Soccer

wow I just realised that I have 4 out of the 5 (don't have Taz Express)

although according to Wikipedia, Michael Owen was released in America, just as Mia Ham 64 Soccer instead.

Yep, thats the same as my list. I have mine written on three sheets of small paper to keep on me when I go shopping for games, I also have a Gamecube and Dreamcast list also. I will make a Mega Drive one soon, everything else is too long or too short of a list. I really wish we got some of those RPGs over here.

Well yeah, but one is a female soccer game and the other is a male soccer game. Quite a difference if you ask me.

Do you actually find Japanese exclusives in the wild in ATL?

Which RPG's are you referring to? There wasn't much on the N64 in any region. Aren't Quest 64 & Aidyn Chronicles the only two released over here?
