I've heard conflicting reports, that a standard 9 pin mini din cable
(i.e. this - http://www.stockcable.com/products.php? ... n%20Cables)
will work as well as an official cable, for a fraction of the cost. I've also heard that the 32x cable is using a non standard pin out.
Any independent verification on this? Does anyone use the above link for their 32x?
edit: also, as an aside, does the 32x use the same power adapter a model 2 genesis? I have a game gear adapter, which will work with a model 2, so I'm hoping I can use that for the 32x
Sega 32x - Gen 2 connector cable - standard 9 pin mini din?
Re: Sega 32x - Gen 2 connector cable - standard 9 pin mini din?
From what I understand, you CAN use the 9-pin mini-DIN connector for a cable. It's just that it doesn't actually use all 9 pins, maybe this is why you are confused?

The 32X uses the same AC adapter as a model 2 and Game Gear, yes.
