Rrrrraaaagggggeeeee

Argh. I put in Super Mario RPG after getting it fixed from when it erased my file at the cake boss. I was enjoying myself more than I ever have re-playing a game, and I got to Bundt again! I lost, and reached to turn off the game, bumping the cart in the process. Guess what just stopped saving again? D:<

You want to hear a story about carts and saving capabilities? Back in 2006 I was a Freshmen at college and in a friend's dorm room we would play N64 games regularly but had been on a Mario Golf fix at the time. We had almost unlocked everything, maybe 3/4 of the way through, maybe 1/2? I don't remember but the thing is while we were playing it was getting crowded and someone walked in front of the TV and tripped over the cords, knocking the N64 off the shelf a couple feet and slamming hard on the ground. The miracle? It didn't erase the save file - everything was still there! So that was awesome. That is until maybe a couple days later after unlocking more when the guy who lived in the room went to jump off of his top bunk. He wasn't exactly "fat" but was a bigger guy and slammed off that bed hard, stomping his feet on the floor. It shook the entire room, and caused Mario Golf to reset, and it lost all of the save data in the process. Unbelievable occurrence.

I was playing Wario Ware Inc on my dsl and since the cart doesn't fit all the way in it got moved a little. This caused my game to freeze. When I turned it back on the memory was gone. I had 100% that game. Found and beat all the mini games and their pars... I was pissed.

This happened to me the first time around on the original Final Fantasy. I was at the last boss all maxed out on the best equipment and leveled up. I lost on my first attempt and got pissed off and shut off the Nintendo not being mindful of the proper shutdown procedure. When I came back it was all gone..talk about rage. 60+ hours down the toilet. I wanted so badly to smash the cart but sadly it was my favorite game at the time.

My sega saturn has had a bad battery forever! So I cant save anything!

I was leaving it on during a play through Astal, I come home to pick up where I left off and my girl friend had shut off the system because she saw it on. This was just last week! :(

WTF dude, it's just a watch battery! take the little plastic panel off the back and put a CR2032 (2032 is the important part, Duracell would be a DL2032, for example) in the holder. It's a piece of cake man! It's easier than changing batteries in most TV remote controls!

My Sonic 3 & Knuckles save was deleted. I had beat the game with all the super emeralds with every character.

So I spent the day redoing it.

My [full] 8GB PSP memory stick decided to corrupt its data a couple weeks back, erasing all my saved games for everything on my PSP, including emulators. Including a save file for Final Fantasy 1 at the last boss with a level 70 party.

One of my PS memory cards just got corrupted, which contained, among other things I can't remember, my Monster Rancher 2 and Legend of Mana saves, both which I put many, many hours into. Thankfully the other side of the card (it's one of those 3rd party 30-block cards), which contains all my Tenchu 2 maps, wasn't damaged.
