Anyone here familiar with this PS1 arcade stick?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Anyone here familiar with this PS1 arcade stick?

Post by Flak Beard »

I believe it is called the Innovation Virtual Stick, although on the stick itself it says "Fighter Stick V". I remember an ASCII brand stick for PS1 said the same thing on it, so I'm not sure if they are related somehow or of the same build quality.

I have an offer to get this stick NIB for dirt cheap. I'm assuming I can still play most PS2 games with it even though it is technically for the PS1? Also, the seller says it is compatible with Saturn (a console which I plan to buy again in the near future), but I'm not sure if this requires some kind of additional adapter sold seperately.

Anyway, if anyone has input on this stick, it would be greatly appreciated. I know it's not going to be a top-tier stick like an HRAP, but I don't play fighters so this would be for some occasional SHMUP and old arcade game-play like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Galaga.

Here's an image of the stick (best one I could find)...

Check out the ASCIIWARE Fight Stick. This is the stick Ive got I really like it! Maybe this should be one of your considerations!

p.s. yes it works on ps1 and ps2 ;)

Looks great, looks to be similar to the Sony PS1 Arcade Stick. I think the stick itself matches the direction pad not the Dual Shock Analog Stick. Most fighters use the direction pad, so not a problem. Good price?

It's looking like the offer will end up being right around $20 shipped.

Here's the ASCII stick I was talking about. It looks just like the one 8bit mentioned, but has the same "Fighter Stick V" font on it.

The first one you put a picture of with the bat style stick looks like it is a crappy knockoff. The main body shape looks like a Saturn Virtua Stick, but the little indented area for the start and select look like a Hori Fighting Stick PS.

I imagine the other ball one was either picked up by Sony for official license from Ascii, or perhaps it was the other way around and lost the official Sony license, so was changed into the FSV. In the 16 bit days they had the Fighting Stick SN and Fighting Stick SG-6.
