Picross Downloadable Content is region locked

I picked up Picross DS recently when I got the newest Pokemon Heart Gold/Silver for the kids. I downloaded the Picross ROM and placed it on my flash card. The game is great. I did a little research and discovered that you can download some new puzzles. Cool!

The first problem I ran into was that Nintendo WiFi connection didn't work because I'm using WPA2 while the DS can only use WEP. That sucks. I temporarily switched my router to use WEP.

When I went to download puzzles, I only saw Mario Picross puzzles. There were no Nintendo Power puzzle packs or the Mario Super Picross. Huh? I tried a few times. Then I tried the my actual DS cartridge and I noticed that I could access all of them.

After doing a little googling, I basically figured out that I was using the European rom and for some reason, they only have Mario Picross puzzles. Not sure why they don't get the Mario Super Picross or Nintendo Power puzzle packs. Another case of the PAL region getting the shaft.
