Thankfully, I have them all back as I recollected them...but their not as mint as mine were.

At one point, I had every EGM ever printed(till mid 03), as well as EGM2 and Xpert gamer. My little sister put them in storage while I was out of the state. The roof fell in during a rain storm, and there was not a single one saved. O well, surely it cant be that much to get them all back, right? Sigh

Any horror stories that don't involve selling off collections or trashing things out of ignorance? Like something that you knew exactly how messed up it was at the time it happened?

Best I can come up with is my buddy got married. One day his old lady decided his super nintendo boxes were taking up too much space....on the top shelf of the closet. She ended up cleaning them out and recycling them. We found out a few weeks later. Contra III, Final Fantasy II, III, Chrono Trigger, etc. It wasn't even my stuff and it damn near broke my heart.

i had left a fully functional Wizard of Wor upright cabinet in my father's garage while my then-wife and i were looking for a house. it was there maybe 3 months. he got tired of it being there and sold it in a garage sale behind my back for $10.

i still haven't forgiven him for it.
