What's with the sexism and homophobia lately?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

This forum is "privately owned" so free speech doesn't really apply here. If racketboy/mods want to set rules forbidding certain words/behavior, so be it. You have no rights. You're free to go elsewhere if you so desire.

I agree that people should try to be more respectful to others.

Haha this is funny, I was smelling that miles away.

Especially lolsome is the postcount comment.

But..
This couldn't be more ridiculous of a thing to say in support of your argument. There is a very clear connection between such language and emotional/physical harm to people.
Have you ever been called names in school? I guess you are homeschooled if you think that does any emotional harm. Or perhaps you need to go to a therapist and figure out why that gets to you in the first place.

In any case, I already pointed out we need to show a certain kind of class and many agree upon that. I never mentioned its okay to call people names, all I said is was okay to swear/curse at dead objects. If you feel hurt when your favourite, non existant virtual being is insulted, you should consider shuffling through your life-prioritys.

Something that is sadly in short supply.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

don't you watch South Park? Fags are those douchebag Harley Riders that drive by at 3 in the morning and shake your windows with their obnoxious exhausts.

Unless of course they are fat and out with their fat kids. Then it is open season.

Oh boy I loved that one! Because its true. I have a fag living on the other side of the street, he has his drive-way in between two houses and garage in the back behind them.

He would often, in times as late as 3-4 in the morning choke his stupid bike (a chopper btw) several times. Then just throttle up all the time while standing around. At some point after annoying everyone on the street he would finally take off. Nothing against bikers in particular, I love motorcycles, but thats just stupid.

I seem to have missed any homophobic comments lately, but I have noticed a fair bit of sexism about. I'm not super bothered, or terribly surprised about it really. But considering the nature of this site I'd say it should be somewhat a priority of members to create a respectful atmosphere. There's no shortage of gamers that will let off a string of sexist, racist, and homophobic comments, xbox live proves that pretty handily. And really, that sort of shit makes gamers as a whole look like a bunch of immature assholes.
It's no surprise that women rarely take part in forums like this, or make themselves known to be women. The reaction is rarely something desirable, I can't even imagine someone bringing up their sexuality on a place like this because of that. So to avoid getting long winded I'll sum it up now. Don't be a douche bag, because it makes every videogame enthusiast look bad and it hurts the community.
