need help with the sega 32x

Post by mas »

I just picked up a sega 32x from ebay really cheap. It comes with everything but the spacer for the model 2 genesis in which I have. I plugged everything in and set it up and all I get is a red screen when I put in regular genesis carts and no screen at all when I put in my 32x game. Now I get this from ebay and the person says no refunds, as is so I took my chance and no luck. So I then took it apart and removed the white connectors and put them back in since i heard that they turn loose and that's a major problem with the 32x system. Now I also read that some models dont work with the 32x system and I have model 1451 and the system works great and it even works on my sega cd so I dont know if that's the problem so I need help figuring out whats wrong. Can anyone help me thanks.

Did you try cleaning the pins?

Just to help narrow things down. Does the CD still work with no cart? Do you have a 32X CD game? I bought one where the cartridge slot was bad but it would play 32x CD.

It could be bad cables too!

Just to be sure, you did get the 32X-to-Genesis A/V cable, right? It's getting harder to find these days, so the seller may not have included it.

I had one of those problems but my screen was green :(

look at the din connectors (genesis to 32c cable)and look if one of those pins are bent or broken
