yeah my PocketNES works... I'm trying to figure out if I can run OTHER homebrew besides those 2.ujnhunter wrote:I also recommend looking at that Wiki page that was posted. It has great info on it. Make sure the versions of Goomba and PocketNES are the versions posted on that Wiki page as they are made specifically for the GBAMP!

Re: GBA Movie Player and homebrew?
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've tested mine out and have found that in order to get homebrew other than those emulators, they need to be compiled to run specifically on the GBAMP, just like those emulators are compiled specifically for the GBAMP. Also, I have NO problem running either of those emulators by running the .gba rom, if you can't run the .gba rom directly maybe your GBAMP firmware isn't up to date or maybe the versions of the emulators you are running aren't compiled properly for the GBAMP.

Re: GBA Movie Player and homebrew?
hmm interesting. Do you know how I'd go about getting them compiled correctly? Or where to find ones already compiled as such? (And just to confirm, you ARE using your GBAMP on a GBA -- NOT on a DS, right?)ujnhunter wrote:Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I'm not sure where you can find information on compiling specifically for the GBAMP. It's been way too long since I've actually really needed to use mine. There are much better carts out there to use for homebrew so the scene for GBAMP kind of died.
Yes, I'm using the NES style GBA SP. I've never tried running the GBAMP on my DS.

I don't think there's a need to recompile them yourself. Did you look at the forums over at http://pocketheaven.com/ph/boards? There are pointers to versions compiled for the GBAMP. Like I said earlier, you should have read the Pocket Heaven wiki which has links for the GBAMP versions.noiseredux wrote:hmm interesting. Do you know how I'd go about getting them compiled correctly? Re: GBA Movie Player and homebrew?
thank you, I did read the wiki. SO I guess the only GBA homebrew that can be run on the card are PocketNES, Goomba, and the SMS emu (forget the name) that have been specifically for it.gtmtnbiker wrote: I don't think there's a need to recompile them yourself. Re: GBA Movie Player and homebrew?
Yes. Due to the limitations of how the GBAMP works, homebrew has to be made specifically to work with the GBAMP.
