Wow, really? That completely blows. There's NO way to re-download previously purchased content? I guess that makes sense -- on PSN and XBL you have a network profile. There is no profile on any kind of network on Wii, huh?Niode wrote:I wouldn't buy anything from the VC because it's non-transferable to other consoles. IF your Wii breaks, bye bye VC titles. You can't transfer the games you own to another console should yours break.
It's a complete deal breaker for me, ever since I found that out I stopped buy VC/Wiiware titles. Think long and hard before you purchase anything from the Wii Shop Channel. Or preferably, don't buy anything from there until Nintendo does something about it.
Rondo of Blood on VC...worth it?

No, but in case your console breaks, you can recover all your downloaded games with the help of Nintendo.RadarScope1 wrote:Wow, really? That completely blows. I've got no signature.

Is there any reason to buy Rondo of Blood for the PC Engine now? I am all for physical copies of games, but more than a hundred dollars difference is just insane.

No it's not possible to do it yourself, like Deathclaw says, it may be possible with the help of Nintendo, but it really shouldn't be that difficult to transfer content from one machine to another in a legitimate way.RadarScope1 wrote:Wow, really? Of course if you have a softmodded Wii you can download and install VC titles for free so you can do this yourself, but why bother paying for the content other than for moral reasons?
I'm boycotting VC until Nintendo sorts this issue out. It simply is not worth buying titles on the system if they're going to disappear should my Wii break. I shouldn't have to pay money to Nintendo to transfer content I already have a right for (you have to pay a national rate 0870 number to contact Nintendo with any support enquires in this country) to another system.

Niode, I keep seeing every post you write involving the video game industry in your country. It sounds like the video game companies don't actually want to be there. You should move to the States, where the support lines are free, and the games aren't marked up.Niode wrote:(you have to pay a national rate 0870 number to contact Nintendo with any support enquires in this country)

Maybe now that the game is finally getting ports, the prices on the original game will come down a little. I almost bought a copy a few times myself. If the price actually did come down a little, I still might.

I still need to find a Super System Card for less than $100 first.Ziggy587 wrote:Maybe now that the game is finally getting ports, the prices on the original game will come down a little. I almost bought a copy a few times myself. If the price actually did come down a little, I still might.

Well, aside from the fact that everything is literally half price (thanks conversion rate!) the amount of hassle it would take to move to the USA added to the fact that health insurance would negate any benefit of cheap houses/mod-cons. Maybe if your country sorts it's shit out and creates a NHS then it would be possible. Without that I simply won't pay the crazy amounts of money your country expects you to pay for health care. I think I'd rather stay in the UK, for now.MrPopo wrote:Niode, I keep seeing every post you write involving the video game industry in your country.
