I was wondering if anyone here wanted to share some impressive PC/DOS collections, since I really haven't seen many before (as in hard copies). I've noticed most of the site is focused around console collections, and that a lot of game collectors in general focus mostly on consoles (myself included). But as someone that's always been an avid PC gamer, I've decided I should put some more focus on getting original copies of PC games and setting up a dedicated Windows 95 or 98 machine for some of the classics.
Also, does anyone know any good PC articles/sites dedicated to PC gamine pre-2000 or so?

Re: PC game collections
Oh man, there are tons of PC games I have sitting around, consoles have been taking all my gaming time. Well that and this Forum. From Quake, Command and Conquer, Midtown Madness, Diablo, TFX, Jazz Jack Rabbit, Falcon 4.0, Myst, 9, Half Life, Flight Simulator, 7th Guest, sheeze been a while i should try some of these older games. If possible you could set up your PC with removable drives. I have One each for DOS, Win98SE, WinXP Pro, and wife's personal don't touch WinXP Home full of her Excel stuff. Trick is getting all the drivers to work on the older operating systems.

Re: PC game collections
I have more PC games than any other type. I have hard copies for several pre-2000 PC games, such as Fallout 1 & 2, Doom 1 & 2, Quake 2, SimCity Classic, SimCity 2000 Special Edition, SimCity 3000, Civilization, Civilization 2, Sam and Max Hit the Road, Flight Simulator, Flight Simulator 98, Age of Empires 2 w/expansion, Command and Conquer, Command and Conquer Tiberiun Sun, Command and Conquer Red Alert, and Half Life w/both official expansion packs.
I also have Commander Keen, Commander Keen 4, Duke Nukem, Duke Nukem 2, Secret Agent, Wolfenstein 3D, Spear of Destiny, Blake Stone, and Blake Stone: Planet Strike in the form of downloads (they cost money though, except the Commander Keen games).
I also have many post-2000 PC games, but it would take too much thinking to list them all.

I have Duke Nukem 3D and Secret of Monkey Island.
Sadly I can't get them to work on my dual core CPU. They worked on my old single core one, though.

Re: PC game collections
I was into PC gaming in the early to mid 90s, but I don't know what happened to all my old hardcopy PC games. I had Full Throttle, Wolfenstein, King's Quest V, Inca, Spellcasting 101: Sorcerer's Get All the Girls, Dragon's Lair III, Guy Spy, and maybe a few others. My friends had other great games, one collected the first person shooters like Doom, the other collected Lucas Arts adventure games and various simulation/god games, and another collected D&D style RPGs. Between the 4 of us, we played a lot of PC greats.
After the Doom craze though, my computer had a harder time keeping up with the system requirements and I slowly focused more and more on console games. More recently I came back to PC gaming in full swing after buying a nice laptop. I hadn't intended for it to become a gaming rig, but then I discovered how good and frequent Steam sales are and now I have more games than I know what to do with. I've also been making up for all of the years I missed by buying games through the Good Old Games site (GOG). I have lots of digital download games from GOG, Steam, Direct2Drive, and Impulse.
You can click the links in my sig to see what's in my collection.

Re: PC game collections
Growing up I gamed on pc as much as I did on consoles. Mostly late 80s to 95 then 98 on. Prince of Persia, Super Solvers, Finest Hour, Falcon 2.0, Maniac Mansion (all of scumm really), Wolf3d, Quake 2, Red Alert 1&2, Half Life 1&2, UT99-2k4, Tribes 2, Civ2, Aliens vs Predator, Lord of the Realm 2, Dune 2/2000, Total Annihilation, 7th Guest, 11th Hour, the Ripper, Phantasmagoria 1&2, the Neverhood, Another World, Kings Quest series, Space Quest series, Wing Commander series, Where in the World is Carmen SanDiego, Mixed up Mother Goose, and many others. I still have the boxes for many of them.
I love the old adventure games, but in college I started playing alot of FPS's titles (note the gap) and it really stuck. Thanks to JT I have a large backlog of drm free digital copies that I will probably never get around to finishing...
Oh, and I am a bit of a Fate of Atlantis fan:

Re: PC game collections
I have always been a PC guy but I don't have a big PC collection. It's more than everything else together but most of it is "new" stuff.
Right now I have my boxed copy of Railroad Tycoon as the only complete old stuff I have left. My mom threw away lots of boxes I had and some games were left in the bin. So now I have 3 or 4 games complete without box and that annoys me to no end.
Also I lost my A-Train disks, the box is empty.
Other than that I have a handful of modern PC games. Most good economic simulators are in my collection along some varied games. My collection is not big but it has very high quality titles.
I decided time ago I would collect old PC games I never had the chance to play like X-COM. Unfortunatedly, finding those in thrift stores is pretty hard.

Re: PC game collections
My PC collection is pretty impressive, although, like everything else I own is without the original box, case, or manuals. Some of the impressive games include
Every single Elder Scrolls PC game including Arena on CD and Battlespire (which I am organizing a lan party for which I am soooo excited for)
Darklands on 5 1/4" floppy and the only game I still have the original box and manuals for (Darklands is a very excellent open world sandbox PC from the early 1990's. Set in the Medieval Germany, you create a band of adventurers and explore the world doing various deeds of good or evil. It was truly a unique and fun experience).
I have an extensive Apple IIGS collection including Space Ace on a sadistic 9 DISKS! I had Space Quest 1 & 2, Kings Quest 1 on 5 1/4", Kings Quest 2 and 4, Hero's Quest (when it was called Hero's Quest) 1, Gold Rush, Tass Times in ToneTown, Uninvited, Manhunter, Thexder, Keef the Thief, War in Middle Earth, Bard's Tale 1, Winter Games, World Games and California Games, 4th & inches, Pirates! and much much more!
Just some to wet your whistle.
