Great Find, I'm jealous
The seller didn't appear to quite know exactly what it was.
I mean at first she was selling the Atari 2600 and had listed the various other games to be included in the sale, and then she made a revision to the listing and stated that she was also throwing in a couple of "atari audio cassettes"(probably meaning the supercharger games) and also a "larger cartridge game" for the Atari 2600. That "larger" cartridge she was obviously referring to the supercharger module. But when she included the cassette deck in the sale, I got the distinct impression that she was probably selling the stuff on behalf of someone else and just didn't bother all that much with the description details.
Just an interesting thing to note with regard to the Supercharger, I was always under the impression that it was not compatible with the Atari 7800. But when I tested it on my 7800 system, it worked flawlessly.
So I dug around and found this little bit of info with regard to that compatibility:
.................Serial #..................................Board part#
Deck#........72R4BR-...Country...Expansion port....CO25233-...Board Date
----- ------------- ------- -------------- ----------- ----------
1.....AT...8 5037836....Taiwan.....Full port........001 REV A.......84-25 *
2.....A1..76 5904610....Taiwan.....Full port........002 REV A.......87-17
3.....A1..77 5951337....Taiwan.....Hole/no pins...002 REV A.......87-17
4.....A3..87 5139813....Taiwan.....No port.........002 REV B........88-28
5.....A3..07 5298641....China.......No port.........002 REV B........88-30
* the supercharger only works with the first Atari 7800 version in the above list.
and fortunately that just happens to be the version that I own.
