if nintendo wanted to compete with the Iphone then there would be a phone in the DS2.

I wouldn't mind 2 little psp nubs on the DS2 (for Gamecube ports), but I doubt that will happen.

I guess I am not buying a DSi or DSi XL, especially since I have already bought 2 phats and one lite DS.

I see no reason for the DS2 to not be backwards compatible with the DS1.

The DS2-ware should have emulators for every nintendo system up to Gamecube and DS1 (DS games only take up 1gb of memory if I am correct),even virtual boy. You would hold the system sideways, and really close to your face. It could work, or atleast it would work better then the original virtual boy.

20gb of internal memory, plus an unified DS/SD card slot for external memory. (I like the sound DSSD :) )

Let's be clear about one thing: You can't emulate the Gamecube on any handheld devices! There's simply no hardware fast enough to do it properly. It's as pointless as the nullDC port for PSP. Porting Gamecube games however should prove much easier. As for DS BC a dedicated chip will likely be required, combining the Arm7 and Arm9 processors. The new cart design Ninty is working on should fit the bill in terms of storage.

Yet I keep coming back for more.
I wouldn't bother. The DSi offers no sufficient reason to upgrade over the DS Lite, if you were to buy a DSi then the only thing that you would gain are a couple of completely useless cameras (seriously, most gamers were bored of this back when the Gameboy Camera came out) and DSi ware, which, should you purchase any, will not be transferable to the new hand held, or any other DSi, XL or otherwise. This is impossible on all Nintendo systems. DSi is a complete waste of money if you have a fully functioning DS Lite. It offers absolutely 0 reason for upgrade. Wait for the new system.

I'd want to have an analog nub a la PSP, but a D-pad over or under it as well. I like the idea of minimizing the space between the two screens, but not the accelerometer. Now I'm expected to use a stylus, buttons, blow into the mic, and shake the stupid thing around? What happened to just fucking hitting buttons? Seriously.

Another thing I want is USB connectivity. Yeah, unrealistic, but strap a nice USB 3.0 port there and it could make for an alternative to cartridges. Of course it'd make homebrew easier too. If they have Channels like the DSi and Wii, a homebrew channel would be great.

Also, drop the stupid cameras.

Well there goes all the classic 2D games. I don't want only 3D games. I really doubt it will be released in a year with the DSiXL coming out this month.

I wouldn't say so, as higher resolution screens and better graphics engine can allow crisper and brighter 2D games; I played plenty of 2D games for DS (all three Castlevania, 2 Advance Wars, SMT:DS), and sometimes I wished the DS could've have a better screen/graphics.

Any one here thinks the next gen of handhelds will be reveled in this year's E3?

Look at the ratio of 2D games on the PSP to the DS. I guarantee there will be less 2D games on the DS2.

Ill buy one down the way, but if it gets ports of Cube games (namely Windwaker), Ill buy one in a heart beat.

I am still buying a DSiXL since I have a dozen or so DS games that I enjoy playing often. Heck I just started Professor Layton (I goofed around in a buddy's copy a while ago and finally pulled the trigger on it recently), and I am hopelessly addicted to Clubhouse Games (as stupid as that sounds). But the stock DSi only has one thing going for it over the DSlite which is the built in web browser. Its not a huge benefit but if you dont have a smart phone and hotspot jump, it is worthwhile. For the record, I still use a base DS - better Dpad.

I really hope the DS2 games don't go digital only. If the DS2 still has a cartridge port and it has buttons I'll buy it right when it comes out no questions, if it doesn't, I'll wait a week, and probably still buy it anyway because Nintendo handhelds are awesome.

Also, with the DSi, it seems really cool, but until there are a bunch of good DSware games or DSi exclusives I don't really see any point in getting one. I'm still waiting for a DS Super Smash Brothers. :(
